The iconic Höljes, a proper rallycross track is the next venue of the FIA World Rallycross Championship”s 2019 calendar. As always, Krisztián’s goal is to get into the Final and hopes that the “Magic weekend” will be a remarkable one for his Swedish team, EKS. This week started well for the Hungarian driver as just before the Höljes RX he announced an important partnership with Audi Hungary.

The FIA World Rallycross Championship’s Nordic tour continues in Sweden. The sixth round of the season is Höljes, which is located in the middle of a forest, but at the first weekend of July tens of thousands of rallycross fans take it over. For the great weekend the entry list has always got longer, including the wildcard drivers the two-time European Rallycross Champion will be facing with 24 competitors at the 1210m long venue.

“This is the greatest rallycross event of the year, that’s why it’s called the “Magic weekend”: lot of fans, lot of drivers, besides the World Championship we have all the support series here, there will be action on the track for three days. As the track is in the middle of the forest, in the previous years I stayed in my motorhome, it’s likely that I will do the same this year as well” – said Krisztián Szabó ahead of the race weekend of 5-7th July.

“Höljes is a proper rallycross track, we have a jump, also jumps within corners, corners with bankings, many gravel parts, uphills and downhills. Classic rallycross layout, but to be honest it’s not among my favourite. Maybe this time I fell in love with it. In the Super 1600 European Championship I raced here a couple of times, last time I finished second.”

“The previous race weekend went really badly, I got stuck behind slower drivers in all Qualifying Races. I have learnt a lot from that. In Höljes there are more overtaking spots than in Hell, therefore I am expecting a better weekend, my goal is to get into the Final again. My team, EKS scored their maiden victory here back in 2014, I hope I can deliver them an outstanding result this year too” – said the 27-year-old driver. Höljes RX is the home race for EKS, as team boss Mattias Ekström is Swedish, such as his team.

“It’s big news that this week I teamed up with a new partner, Audi Hungary. They have also provided me a brand new Q3 with a custom livery. Although I am driving it for only a few days, I love the new car, and I hope it’s the beginning of a long.term partnership!”
